We believe that people mostly share the same goals, they just disagree on how to achieve them, and that this manifests in different choices of candidates on election day. Rather than focusing on candidates and elections, we will put these goals front and center. The things people generally want- lower grocery prices, more affordable housing, better paying jobs, and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions- can all be measured with data. These goals are the starting point in a three-stage workflow where users join together to try and move the data point in the right direction.
The next step in the process is a proposal- anyone can share their ideas for how to achieve measurable progress toward the goal, and have the pros and cons debated by the community. Activists on both sides can rally people to their side and create events and other activities to advance (or defeat) the proposal.
The third and final step is projects. If a proposal is successfully implemented, it becomes a project- something that is actually happening in the real world. Other projects are things (such as government programs) that were already in effect before the platform was created- all of which have the same goals in common. We believe it is important to evaluate ongoing efforts in terms of their stated goals, in order to determine if they are working effectively. If they are no longer effective, it may be necessary to go back to the beginning.
